The sun is out and it’s a hot summer day. What are you going to do? Make your way down to Lake Michigan and enjoy some fun in the sun. The lakefront provides many opportunities for a great summer day in Milwaukee.

• Bradford Beach: Make your way to Bradford Beach to catch some rays after a covered up winter. Lie out at the beach or have fun with friends by playing Frisbee or volleyball. This is also a super place for an afternoon date flying a kite! If you want to lounge on something a little more than your towel, beach chairs and cabanas are available to be rented at both Bradford Beach and Atwater Park Beach between June and August.

• McKinley Marina: McKinley is the only public marina on the lake front here, so if you have a boat bring it out and launch it into the water.

• More Ideas: If you don’t have a boat, don’t fear there are many more fun activities. Grab a pole, some worms, a hook and enjoy the morning or afternoon fishing. If fishing isn’t your thing, pull together your family or friends to play a fun game of football at one of the free fields.

• Jet Skiing: If you want to get in the water, there are plenty of opportunities to do so. Just north of the marina and south of Bradford Beach you can rent jet skis. Come prepared because you will need to provide a deposit of $200. You will be provided with instructions on how to operate the Jet Ski, fuel, a wet suit, and a life jacket. The cost of this fun is $45 for every half hour.

Kayaking: If something without a motor is more your speed rent a kayak for $8 a half hour or $14 an hour.

• Paddle Boating: At the Veteran Park Lagoon and Greenfield Park you can go paddle boating between May and October. The paddleboats seat 3 and cost $8 a half hour to rent.

• Hydro Biking: Back down at the lakefront hydro bikes can be found. Bring a valid driver’s license for deposit. Life jackets are available there and are required while using the hydro bikes.
