There are several style variations of roman shades. These many varieties make them ideal for any room in the office or home. Listed below are some of the most common styles of roman shades.
·        Folded Roman Shade
Folded roman shades contain evenly spaced overlapping folds. This is considered a more traditional style of roman shade. The folded roman shade creates a classic and tailored shape.
·        Flat Roman Shade
The flat roman shades are a more contemporary type of shade. Flat roman shades do not have horizontal seams as most do. Solids and printed fabrics look excellent on this style of shade. Flat roman shades look fabulous in offices, bedrooms, or kitchens.
·        Soft Roman Shade.
The soft roman shade is considered a more traditional style of shade. This shade has a more tailored appearance. It contains soft overlapping folds which are achieved with “hobbled” lining.
·        Balloon Roman Shade.
The balloon roman shade is a more formal appearing shade. This particular style is a great idea for a dining room or formal living room.   The balloon roman shade contains box pleats at the top and a series of flowing balloon-shaped folds toward the bottom.
·        Light Filtering
The light filtering roman shade is a great idea if you are considering window treatments for decoration, but not necessarily for blocking sun exposure. They are designed to block a partial amount of sunlight from entering the room. They will not block the entire amount of sunlight. They have the same great look as a traditional roman shade, and are a great idea for filtering a small amount of sunlight into the room. Look for “light filtering” roman shades for this situation.
·        Room Darkening
This type of roman shade is designed to do just as the title suggests, to darken a room. If you are searching for a roman shade designed to insulate the room and block out a great deal of sunlight, then this is the style for you. Look for roman shades that are “room darkening.”
