A white wedding gown was at one time a symbol of virginity and inappropriate for a woman marrying for the second time. Today, the white dress is a symbol of joy which makes it a perfect choice for a second wedding.

In choosing a gown for a second wedding, the most important thing to keep in mind is that your dress should match the type of ceremony you are having. If you are having a formal wedding, then by all means feel free to wear a formal wedding gown. However, if you are having a casual wedding ceremony, the dress should be less formal. A cocktail dress or suit might be more appropriate for a more casual wedding ceremony. Second time brides should not wear a veil covering their face as this is a tradition reserved for the first time bride. There are other beautiful choices such as, hats or fresh flowers. Trains are acceptable if wearing a formal style wedding gown.

As with any wedding gown, it is important to select a dress that flatters your figure and expresses your personality.
