There are some basic ingredients in a contract that are needed each time you hire a DJ of any kind, especially when you hire one for your wedding. Some basic contract items are:

• The total cost
• The deposit you pay
• Sound and Light equipment provided by the DJ
• Sound and Light equipment provided by you and/or the facility where the reception is housed
• Refund agreement
• Time agreement

There are also some other details that are needed from your DJ in a contract. The first is complete contact information. You are dealing with large amounts of cash and an important time in your life. Make sure the people show up. The second is an exclusivity contract. This simply means that you are the only wedding they have that night. This is important in case your wedding goes longer and you would like to pay your DJ an extra fee for additional time. The rest is any extra details that may cause a wedding to have problems:

• Time of arrival
• Dress code
• Meals provided for DJ
• Any other special requests agreed upon
