Breakfast
This morning breakfast will be at the hotels Garden Café. The Garden Café has a vast breakfast menu that is sure to get your day started off right. From eggs made to order to fresh pastries and fruit there is something for everyone at the Garden Café.
Morning Activities
After a great breakfast the first activity of the day will be a visit to the
Hogle Zoo. The zoo is a great place to spend the day exploring different species of animals. There are numerous habitats and exhibits inside the zoo as well as train that will take you around the zoo. Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for children ages 3-12 and senior citizens. Children 2 and under are free.
Lunch
You’ve had an exciting morning at the zoo and now it’s time for lunch at one of Salt Lake City’s best restaurants Q 4 U Barbeque. This barbeque restaurant serves up some of the best ribs in the state. You can order their ribs in either third, half, or full slabs. Their menu also consists of smoked chicken, fried chicken, brisket, pulled pork, hot link sausages, chicken wings, sandwiches, potato salad, french fries, coleslaw, BBQ beans, macaroni and cheese, cornbread, chicken gumbo, and seasoned rice. Q 4 U has a children’s menu and a dessert menu full of homemade delights. They give you the option of ordering individual portions or family portions. Prices start at $3.59 and go up to $37 for family meals.
Afternoon Activities
The afternoon will take you to one of the city’s most historical sites Temple Square. Construction on Temple Square began back in 1853 however it was not completed until 1892. Temple Square was built by the Mormon settlers who founded Salt Lake City. Completely hand built, Temple Square is one of the most beautiful structures in the country. Inside the Tabernacle is the massive hand built 11,000 pipe Tabernacle Organ. The Tabernacle is also home to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
Evening Activities
Tonight’s plans consist of taking in a Utah Jazz NBA game at the Delta Center. NBA games are always exciting and fun to watch. Under the leadership of head coach Jerry Sloan the Jazz hope to make it to the NBA Championship this year. Dinner will also be at the Delta Center which offers several concession stands serving hot dogs, hamburgers, french fries, nachos, sandwiches, chips, candy, soft drinks, and beer. Regular season tickets start out at $40.
