Train the trainer seminars are workshops aimed specifically at training professionals. Attendees to the conference are trained in how to train employees. Train the trainer workshops bring together trainers from many different employers and organizations, equips them, and sends them back to train employees at their own workplaces.

In the year 2000, training was a $55 billion business. Companies train employees in everything from workplace safety to sexual harassment training, and while some companies send employees to training seminars, many companies provide in-house training for their employees. Train the trainer workshops equip the trainers who design and run these in-house trainings.

When a trainer improves his training skills, that improvement filters down to all the employees he/she is training. Train the trainer workshops can thus benefit an entire company while only directly affecting one person. This is the multiplication effect in action.

These seminars focus on how to format and design a program as well as practical information such as public speaking tips, obtaining employee participation, and how to handle difficult or awkward situations. In addition, train the trainer workshops can serve as a model of how to have a training. These seminars will, hopefully, be put together so well that trainees will pick up on ideas and techniques even when they are not specifically pointed out. They will take back what they have seen and use it in planning trainings for their own company.
