Where do I go to find Corporate Training opportunities?
Surprisingly, the Yellow Pages is an excellent place to begin. It will provide you with a good list of corporate training opportunities. Start there and look for a reputable local training program.
Ask around. What educational programs have your business colleagues used for their corporate training needs? Which ones did they find most useful? Which ones were the least effective? Word of mouth is a wonderful means for locating effective, trustworthy training companies.
For a more broad perspective, check out seminar companies. These exist all across the country, and they are masters at designing both general training opportunities as well as on-site corporate training programs specifically catered to your company’s needs. You can search for these companies online…or perhaps you’ve already received some of their flyers in the mail (they are excellent at marketing their seminars to businesses). Check into these training programs and see if one or two of them will meet your particular needs. Also, most human resources departments are inundated with training companies trying to get their attention. When it comes to training, your HR manager can be one of your best resources.
Look into professional organizations, such as the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD). This is a good resource for workplace learning and performance issues and will allow you to interact with others looking for good training opportunities.
Finally, don’t forget the web. Not only can you search for traditional corporate training consultants and companies, you will also find a plethora of innovative training techniques including e-learning opportunities, online programs, web-based classes, and so forth.
