Before we start talking about the trip itself, we would like to recommend two things: One, that you spend one day of your trip at the River Walk. The River Walk, San Antonio’s most famous destination for culture and life, is a beautiful 2 ½ mile path of cobblestone that winds through downtown, bordering the San Antonio River and leading you through cafes, clubs, restaurants, shops and entertainment of all other kinds. You can easily spend an entire day there. Instead of making recommendations for this day, we simply suggest you walk the path and take in as little or as much as you’d like. You could easily spend two or three days of your vacation there, and you may do just that, but we strongly taking at least this one day and letting yourself explore the crown jewel of this beautiful city.
Our second recommendation won’t be for everyone, but it may be for you. When you have a week of vacation, even to a place as terrific as San Antonio, sometimes it’s nice to escape the city for a day. About 2 ½ hours from San Antonio is another splendid Texas travel destination, Corpus Christi. Corpus Christi, located on the Gulf of Mexico, offers exciting opportunities for tours, sightseeing, fishing, shopping, or whatever else tickles your fancy. If you need a one-day escape from your one-week escape, take the drive south to Corpus Christi and take in more of the outstanding Texas hospitality and culture!
