Memphis is known nationally for many things, from being the home of Elvis Presley, the King of Rock n’ Roll. It is the birthplace of the blues on Beale Street, the home of some of the world’s best barbeque and the central location for some of the world’s most renowned businesses. FedEx was born in Memphis and Fred Smith, its founder, made Memphis its primary hub. Due to its location, Memphis is central to many other major metro areas around the country and thus it has become a major distribution center for major companies. It is the home to a growing number of nationally and internationally known corporations, including approximately 150 businesses from 22 countries. Two of these companies are Fortune 500 companies, FedEx and AutoZone Incorporated. Memphis has been the city that many have associated with their favorite films, whether it was Great Balls of Fire!, Cast Away, The Firm, Hustle & Flow or Walk the Line. All in all, Memphis is many things to many people, but to those who know it best, it is a great place to live!
