Knoxville is home to some of the finest education institutions in the United States. Knoxville has 131 schools for grades K – 12. There are 22 public and 67 private institutions of higher education. Knoxville is home to several trade schools covering fields such as real estate, computer training, interior design, health and medical. There are three community colleges providing vocational instruction for associate degrees and the first two years of academic preparation for bachelor degrees at a four year college.
