Pedestals can be used as occasional tables and come in many different heights and materials. However, the best feature of using a pedestal as an occasional table is that these can be ordered in many different widths as well as heights.

Because pedestals can be found in many different heights, the right pedestal is available for any size room, whether the room is a screened in porch or a ballroom.

Pedestals make excellent plant stands both indoors and out. Because many are made of natural stone, they weather well and are not easily blown over by the wind. Pedestals designed for indoor use are often made of lighter materials faux finishes to mimic natural stone.

Lamp stands are another excellent use of pedestals. Since they can be found in many different heights, the light source can be focused on the underlying objects from whatever height is most appropriate. And since pedestals as lamp stands are required to be extremely heavy or durable, they can be shaped in many different styles and from any number of materials.

One of the most breathtaking uses of pedestals is to display unique pieces of art. When supporting a statue or other artistic work, the pedestal becomes part of the focus, either by blending into the background as a lovely support, or by following the line and design of the piece and becoming one with it.
