There are many water sports and exciting activities to participate in at the lake - whether you're with a friend or alone. Check with your lake to see if they have equipment for the various sports available for rent. (Or bring your own if you have it.) Here are some ideas for active summer fun at the lake:

• Rent a Jet Ski or Sea-Doo. If you've never ridden on the water in a Jet Ski, it is something you definitely need to experience. The speed, the noise, the spray in your face - It's perfect to cool off on a hot day or just to feed your wild side. If you're playing at the lake with a bud, you can each rent one and race or explore together.
• Go Parasailing. If you're not the "lying around" type when you're spending summer at the lake, try parasailing. It's thrilling and makes a great memory. Plus, you'll probably get to witness breathtaking views.
• Swim. Swimming in a lake is an experience unlike swimming in a pool or at the beach. It can be quite invigorating; just make sure that you're in acceptable swim areas.
• Jump. One exciting water activity is rock jumping. At many lakes, there are natural rocks surrounding parts of the lake with deep water that you can jump into. Depending on the height of the rocks, it can give a serious adrenaline rush. However, make sure that you are totally safe! Wear a life jacket, never dive headfirst, jump only into safe areas, and make sure that you have a friend with you.
• Water Ski. If you have the use of the back of a boat and skis, try water skiing. Many lakes provide short lessons if you've never experienced water skiing before; otherwise, just go at it!
• Tube. Tubing can be quite a wild ride; maybe that's why so many people enjoy it. With your tube (specifically designed for tubing - not an inner tube) fastened to the back of a boat, hang on for dear life and enjoy the ride! Once again, always play safe: wear a life jacket.
