For the past several years, legislation in the St. Louis area challenging the teaching of Darwinism has come closer to being implemented, having gained support by Representative Wayne Cooper, who recently pushed a bill through the House Education Committee that would include alternative thought on the theory, namely that of "intelligent design."
Dubbed the "Missouri Science Education Act," the legislation would require teachers to distinguish between "theories" and verified empirical evidence.
Critics say the bill would intimidate some teachers into demoting evolution on a scale not equaled by most experts in the field - who claim that the evidence for evolution is ubiquitous.
If passed, Cooper purportedly plans to move forward with the follow-up "Voodoo Magic" education bill and the replacement of Sex Ed. with "Ashtaroth's Onerous Web of Lies."
