Knowing what parts go into your snowmobile helps when you are ready to repair your model. This is because by having the knowledge about your unit and what parts goes into making it will help you better communicate to the parts dealer or retailer what you are looking for. But before you get out your phone, you need to know some things about looking up parts and ordering them. Here are a few things to know:
· Service Manual: It doesn’t matter whether you will repair your snowmobile yourself or take it to a mechanic, you should have a service manual so you can refer to it. In most cases the service manual may have the part number and a pictorial showing how to take the part off and replace it.
· Online Access: In many cases, if you know the part number ahead of time you can go online to the store of your choice and order it that way. You may not wish to pay for it at that time. You may just want to put it on hold till you get to the store.
· Phone: If you do not trust the Internet and wish to phone in your order, you can do that. Just give the sales person the part number. He may ask for the model of your snowmobile and year. Give him this information. This will make it easier for him to look up your info.
