A cash register is an electronic machine used to register transactions of purchases by customers. They are used in stores or shops in order to add or subtract items on the bill in which the customer needs to pay. Additionally, it is a way of providing the correct change needed to give to the customers, and lists the different items the customer is purchasing. It also holds the cash and coins in a locked drawer, in order to dispense when the change needs to be given. Also, the cash register is hooked up to a machine that prints out a receipt in order for the customer to have a record of what and when the item or items was purchased. The cash register is handles each individual cash sale separately.
