What should I not put in my juicer?

Fruits and vegetables that are low in water content, such as bananas and avocados, should not go in your juicer. With those exceptions, however, nearly every fruit and vegetable can go in your juice, as long as you are careful to throw out any moldy sections and the peels, seeds, and tops, as necessary.

What happens to the pulp?

Different models handle pulp in distinct ways. Some models have separate screens that allow you to choose how much pulp will enter the juice while other models try to take out all the pulp. In general, juicers transfer the pulp to a container or catch it using a filter; in either case, you will need to empty out on the pulp on a regular basis. If you want pulp in your juice, you can simply remove it from the filter and add it to the juice; otherwise, you can throw it out or use it in fruit bread or other dishes.

Can I use my juicer for anything else besides juice?

Some juicers have a pasta attachment or a grain mill attachment, and many juicers advertise their ability to make nut butters. If these features are important to you, look for models that offer them; otherwise, you could probably use a food processor or a blender for similar functions.
