There are a variety of reasons to sit down and enjoy a fantastic cup of coffee, but is there really any reason to waste it? Yet the reality is that many of us home-based coffee drinkers end up tossing out quite a bit of freshly brewed coffee. Keep in mind that you don’t always have to brew a full pot, but if you never need 12 cups of coffee, then it would be better for you to buy a smaller model in the first place.
Variety of Sizes
• 12 cup – most brands make a 12 cup version of their machines; this is the model for you if you are an entertainer, have a large family or have a few coffee drinkers who drink multiple cups each morning.
• 10 cup – the ten cup model can be the happy medium for most coffee machine purchasers; it has the capacity to entertain, and yet it can still be used on a daily basis for your regular coffee brewing needs of 6 to 8 cups.
• 8 cup – this is certainly the most popular version purchased as it would meet the needs of most coffee drinkers; you may only brew 4 or 6 cups a day, but its capability to brew 8 cups makes it a candidate to meet the needs of a small dinner party.
• Solo – this machine is really a new breed of coffee maker, if you will, as it actually only makes one cup of coffee; it is made by several manufacturers and it is perfect for the coffee drinker on the go. It uses the pod method (see below) and brews directly into an insulated mug in around 2 minutes flat – viola!
