No matter what region you visit in Canada, you will be guaranteed skiing. Even the ski hills away from the main ski centers provide good slopes. The best ski hills, however, remain in the Western region. The Alberta Rockies, British Columbia Rockies, and Whistler British Columbia provide the most excellent ski opportunities in Canada.

Apex
Apex Mountain Resort continues to be one of the best-kept secrets of Canadian skiing. Apex is found in the heart of the OkanaganValley, only 30 minutes from Penticton, BC. The weather at Apex allows for the perfect mix between low humidity and large precipitation, producing a light powder snow. The average temperature at Apex is -4° C; the result each season is 600 cm of dry "Okanagan” powder. The slope offers both challenges for the expert skiers as well as gentle inclines for the beginning skier. No need to wait in long lines here! Apex provides non-congested slopes and short lift lines so you can get more skiing in.

Your family can stay at Apex Mountain Resort where you will enjoy a friendly atmosphere as you ski some of the best terrain available. Stay overnight and enjoy local dining and great shops in the village. In addition, be sure to take a hike up to the top of Apex on the Grandfathers Run where the scenery is breathtaking. You will see wildflowers in their glory amidst the alpine meadows, as well as wildlife such as deer and red-tailed hawk. Alpine Mountain Resort is the perfect retreat to take your summer vacation.

It boasts five enourmous bowls, with countless chutes and glades, where both beginners and experienced skiers can smile as the powder snow moves beneath their feet.

There are five separate mountain bases where a skier can begin trips up to the ski runs. Each of these bases are only five minutes apart from each other, and there are a total of 32 ski lifts to choose from. When done skiing, skiers can enjoy Whistler Village, the focal town site. Within the streets, fine dining, great entertainment, and incredible accommodations can be found.
