So you want to buy a snowboard? You are not alone. Did you know that snowboarding has been the fastest growing sport since 1997? One widely circulated statistic claims that 30% of all lift ticket sales are used by snowboarders. In fact, there are now more snowboarders than skiers. In the 2004-2005 season, there were 6.6 million snowboarders as compared to 5.9 million skiers (some people may be both). While snowboarders used to be considered “rebel” skiers and banned at many ski resorts, now they are considered a financial lifeline for most ski areas.

Buying a snowboard can seem overwhelming; however, you really don’t have to know everything about snowboarding before you buy. All you need is some basic information about snowboarding and snowboards to get you on your way to enjoying this exhilarating sport.
