» Day 2
Seattle City Light
Seattle City Light offers a great way to see the beauty and grandeur of the North Cascade Mountains. The Skagit River Hydroelectric Project has been supplying Seattle with power for years. Here is what Seattle City Light says about the project:
Created by the citizens of Seattle in 1902, Seattle City Light has served our customers with electricity and related services for more than a century. Over the years we have worked very hard to keep Seattle's electricity affordable, reliable, and environmentally sound. Today Seattle City Light is a recognized national leader in energy efficiency and environmental stewardship. We look forward to continuing this tradition in the 21st century and beyond.
The Project takes you to Diablo Lake where you can view glaciers and beautiful cascading waterfalls like Ladder Creek Falls. Not only will be able to spend the day surrounded in pristine beauty but you will also hear the history of River Project. Skagit River Tours offers tours of the Dam as well as lake tours. This area may demand that you spend more than one day exploring.
