Before you even consider scuba diving, there are some factors you should be made aware of. Any one of the following reasons is enough to keep you land-bound:

• Lack of certification
• Fatigue
• Dehydration
• Rain
• Any type of illness (runny nose, sinus infection, fever, etc.)
• Trouble equalizing
• Malfunctioning scuba gear
• High nitrogen levels
• Choppy water or poor visibility
• Under the influence of drugs or alcohol
• Preexisting health conditions
• Shortness of breath, allergies, or asthma
