Four scuba divers on a Filipino pump-boat were rescued after over 48 hours of being stranded at sea when their craft developed engine trouble between Bohol and Camiguin Islands.

Elmer Loreno, boat captain, from Sunrise, Tawala, Panglao told authorities that they were drifting for more than two days as passing vessels did not respond in spite of the distress signals they made.

Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about here, but couldn't the stranded guys just scuba themselves to safety? You know, just swim for a couple of hours to the shore? I guess it doesn't really work that way.
