» Class A Motor Homes
The Class A motor home is the largest and often most luxurious of motor homes available. Most models offer complete self-containment, with on-board generator, large water and holding tanks, big batteries and a generous propane supply. Such features also make these units especially good for "dry" camping (without hookups), even for extended periods.
The average weight of a Class A motor home is 13,000 to 30,000 pounds, with the average length being 30 to 40 feet in overall length, and an average height of 10 feet high.
The Class A motor home, also commonly referred to as the conventional motor home, is the largest, most luxurious of the motorized RVs -- a virtual "home-away from-home" on wheels, fully loaded and equipped for short trips, lengthy vacations and full-timing. The Class A RV is entirely constructed on a bare, specially designed motor vehicle chassis.
