It is not as common known but in the past Portugal has been very closely associated with Brazil. Whilst this is a completely different country, the general conditions of living and attitudes are quite similar, Rio de Janeiro was once known as the country’s capital for the few years when the Spanish claimed current capital Lisbon as their own. There is no longer this association with Brazil but the countries do still have close ties and if you visit both places, you will be surprised how the economy and people are very alike.

Top Fact: With both of these countries they are very influenced with one another and whilst this occurred during the first days of each country and at the time of continuous war, the foods available and general eating habits are almost identical.
