Day Two

There are plenty of historical sights located throughout Portugal and one place that I would definitely make a beeline for is the Torre de Belem in Lisbon. This monument was built during the 16^th century to defend the river from ongoing invasions. The architecture is amazing and you are treated to wonderful views from the tower that is accessible via a walkway. On a beautiful day, the sight of the harbour and general surrounding countryside is outstanding from such a height and this is one of the best photo opportunities you will get.

 

This is one restaurant where reservations are almost certainly required because this is the haunt of businessmen, soccer players and many other high standing citizens. The service is excellent and the food is even better. You will come across the best selections of fish and meat available and then if you have room, the desserts are deemed to be the best part – if you have room.
