Day One

For the first day I would recommend visiting one of the many theme parks that have been arising over the last few years in the Portugal area. Whilst this is not technically a theme park, you should visit the Mini-Hollywood attraction located in Almeria.

 

These are real sights that have been used over the years for various westerns and this day out can give you a feel on being in a movie. This attraction will not be for everyone but to get a feel of what a typical western set looks like, can prove to be enjoyable. Children especially will enjoy this but potentially, the whole family can have fun.

 

Mini Hollywood is an excellent photo session because with the various “sets” you can get your photo taken almost anywhere but there is a special part of the tour where you can dress up in traditional cowboy clothing and get your picture taken in the special attire.

 

There is a restaurant on site that offers a variety of meals and for some families this will prove to be an enjoyable day out because prices are reasonable but you get a feel of living in the Wild West but without all the gun fights. You do however; get treated to a live show that lasts about 15 minutes and this adds to the magic even more.

 

Top Fact: Whilst visiting this attraction, you can visit the old western saloon and a lot of details have gone into mini-Hollywood because all staff members are dressed in traditional western clothing. There are many great restaurants throughout Portugal that you must visit but one of the most popular is the Beach Basket in Albufeira.

 

It offers a variety of seafood and other international cuisine but for an unusual twist, you get views of the bay whilst dining, rooftops of hours are situated just below you and for about 35 euros per person, you have can a wonderful meal in a relaxed atmosphere and the service has been quoted as excellent.
