In addition to offering different finishes and styles, many faucets go far beyond a simple spout and handle and promote some of the below features.

·        Pull-out Sprayer: This sprayer (also called a veggie sprayer) is different from the pull-out spout because it is in addition to a spout. The sprayer attaches to a long hose, so you can pull it out for flexible use.

·        Water Filter: Instead of purchasing your own water filter, consider purchasing a faucet that filters on its own.

·        Anti-Scald Feature: Anti-scalding faucets have a maximum temperature, so you can protect your hands and the hands of your children from scalding water.

·        Warranty: Many faucets now come with a lifetime warranty. While most warranties cover leaks (internal valve malfunctions), the best warranties also cover the finish of your kitchen faucet

·        Electronic: They aren’t just for public places anymore. Electronic faucets use infrared detection to turn water on and off.

·        Lotion/Soap Dispensers: If you have the holes in your sink to allow for them, lotion and soap dispensers can be a nice addition to your faucet.

·        Coverage Range: Most spouts rotate to allow you to easily move the water flow from one item to another. Pull-out sprayers also help in this area.

·        Multiple Spray Settings: Much like an outdoor nozzle, some faucets allow you to spray with different levels of intensity so that you can apply added pressure to hard-to-clean items or less pressure to delicate items.

·        Water Dispensers: The truly luxurious kitchen faucet has hot and chilled water dispensers so that you can immediately have water at the exact temperature you want.

 

In addition to these features, you can pick handles of a certain design. Do you want handles that turn or lift? Should they have a modern look, a retro feel, or something else? You can also decide if you want handles on one side of the spout or the other, or attached to the spout.
