Careful selection will keep you from choosing a bed that is too small. Pillow and bolster beds have reduced space due to the added filling. These space constraints should be taken into consideration when purchasing a pillow or bolster bed. Round beds have the least space for your sleeping pet whereas the rectangular bed provides maximum “stretching” room. Measure your animal in a reclining position and add around 9” to the measurement to ensure perfect comfort for your dog.
Crate requirements differ from the regular dog bed. The crate should be large enough for your pet to stand up, have the ability of turn around and lie back down with ease. The only drawback to large crate size is the growing puppy. Large crates may overwhelm the pup and make the transition to the crate more difficult. Making the crate as comfortable as possible may ease the discomfort. If not, purchasing a smaller crate may be an option.
