Litter Box

Although some people may not refer to the litter box as a piece of furniture, it is important to know that their placement and maintenance are very important to your cat.

Understandably, people want the litter boxes placed in an out-of-the-way space in their home in order to minimize odor. However, if the litter box is placed in a space that can be hard to access or even scary for the cat, it may deter the cat from using the litter box properly. The litter box should be kept in a location that gives your cat some privacy, but is also convenient for them to access such as a closet, bathroom or laundry room. However, be sure the door is always cracked so that the kitty can find their way in. Installing a kitty door is another option to providing easy access.

Once you have found a location that works, take measures to make the space inviting for your cat. If the floor is cold tile or wood, place a towel underneath the litter box. If you have the space, place a scratching post by the litter box, as cats like to scratch around them. Clean your litter box as much as possible. After all, who likes using a dirty bathroom?

Know that you are doing the right thing for your cat in buying him furniture to enhance his well-being. He will appreciate your consideration and surely will reward you with a lot of purrs.
