Pets on planes?

And no, I'm not referring that extremely silly movie coming out soon.

When you travel by air and need to take your cat or dog (or other, I suppose) many airlines permit small animals in carriers to fly beneath the seat.

Other airlines, such as AirTrain allow dogs, cats, or birds in the cabin for a certain fee, as long as the weight of the animal and the carrier are not over a prescribed limit. There are also specifications for the dimensions of the carrier.

I wasn't aware that some airlines are so picky, so it would be wise to consult the specific airline whenever traveling with the "little ones."
