Ok, this microchip thing has got to stop.
Memphis Animal Services has made a change to its adoption program that will aid adopted pets from this day forward. The agency has begun to inject microchips into the animals before they are adopted to insure that in case they get lost, they can be tracked and easily found again.
For those people who are unfamiliar with the microchip and how it works, it is comprised of a tiny computer chip that is simply implanted under the skin of the animal's neck using a syringe. This chip contains vital information such as the owners name and address, the name of the pet, and contact information that is readily available via simply scanning the animals specific bar code at an animal shelter.
When will you people learn? I guess it's going to take an army of cyborg-dogs with laser cannons for tails and Gauss-firing paws before they realize this microchip thing is a mistake.
