A man who had 50 dogs, along with rabbits, chinchillas and other pets in his home, is facing more than 270 charges.
Authorities charged Bob Zubik with 71 counts of misdemeanor abandonment and neglect, with each charge carrying a sentence of up to 180 days in jail and a $1,000 fine. He also is charged with 41 counts of harboring a non-immunized dog, with each charge carrying up to $500 in fines.
Other charges include 41 counts of violating city licensing requirements, 71 counts of violating the city's nuisance ordinance and 48 counts of violating an ordinance regarding the care of dogs. Zubik also violated several ordinances because of the condition of his home and property in the city 5 miles east of Gary, authorities said.
Wow. Just...wow. Just imagining the wave of stink when the cops opened his door has made me lose my damn appetite.
