• If you want to see one of the many historical places throughout Peru then Machu Picchu (Machupijchu) is a great option so you can witness how the Inca’s once lived. Machu Picchu can be found 80 kilometres northwest of Cusco and ever since it was discovered in 1911, it has become a great historical place to visit as it has been a major archaeological site over the past decades and as a result of the many digs that have been undertaken, it lead to the historic realm of the Inca’s being discovered and subsequently made it the most visited ruin site visited throughout the whole of South America.
• If you want a change of pace then I would make sure you see the Huayna Picchu, this great granite peak that overlooks all the ruins of Machu Picchu. It is almost impossible to be able to climb the peak but if you can handle the climb then halfway up the peak you will find a cave that contains the Temple of the Moon. Another great lot of ruins within the cave are a beautiful site and if you can make it towards the middle of the Peak, you will be treated to some of the best and well preserved ruins that were discovered in 1911.
