• One part of Peru that is worth visiting is the sleepy town of Pisac near Cusco. It is usually a quiet and sleepy town but on Tuesday’s, Thursday’s and Sunday’s you will come across one of the biggest and most famous of artesania markets. It completely transforms into a bustling market area where you can purchase a large variety of great items to take home and these range from fresh produce to a choice of local crafts and you can also purchase anything between a selection of musical instruments, jewelry, hats and antiques. If you don’t want to spend much money then don’t worry, you could choose from one of the several cafes in the area that overlooks the bustling market area of Pisac.
• If you would rather do something else than look around the many market stalls then why not pay a visit to the Pisac Ruins. The first sight that greets you is the Inca road which was once used to reach the canyon that enters the Urubamba Valley. Set high about a valley floor you will find a large array of water ducts and steps which have been cut out of the rock but the best part is the upper part of the ruins where you will see the main Sun Temple and if you want to venture even further, above the previously discovered ruins then you can reach a site with more ruins but many have remained undiscovered.

Another restaurant that offers an array of tasty traditional Andean dishes then you must visit the Kusikuy restaurant at least one. Thee name is translated to “happy little guinea pig” and this is one of the restaurants within Cusco where you can find guinea pig (so cuy al horno) on the menu.

If this seems a little far fetched for you then you can try an alternative choice of traditional meals but if you would prefer something heading away from the traditional cuisine then you can select anything from pastas and various meat dishes prepared in a tasty way. The restaurant is in good condition and is warmly decorated with black and white tiled floors, hardwood tables and a mixture of musical instruments and antiques originating from the Amazon.

Opening times are from 8am to Midnight Monday to Sunday and you can expect to spend an amazing $3.50 to $11 for a main course and this certainly won’t break the bank.
