Eye liner is a beautiful makeup tool that helps define your eyes; used properly, it can make them look larger, add excitement, and much more. Most eye liners come in several varieties – at least a pencil and a liquid – and many colors. If you like working with eye pencils, use one that creamy, so that it won’t pull at your delicate eye skin; if you use liquid, make sure it doesn’t go crazy and get too dark. A lightly smudged line is often perfect for adding soft beauty.

If you are using your eyeliner to add drama, it can be a little thicker and darker than usual. However, for an everyday, subtle-beauty look, try a lighter application, and see what the finished product – with mascara and eye shadow – looks like. Feel free to experiment with colors. While brown and black are the traditional and many people don’t feel comfortable with lime green, some colors like navy blue can add a beautiful effect to the eyes.
