There are several universal qualities to look for when you are choosing a conditioner:
• It should rinse out easily.
• It should leave hair manageable, not overly tangled.
• It should be safe for repeated use.
• It should be non-irritating
• It should not be damaging to the eyes.
Many conditioners offer benefits based on their inclusion of certain ingredients. While some of these ingredients do help, others offer little or know advantages.
Ingredients that don’t work:
• Botanical extracts- makes hair smell good, but offers no other benefit
• UV protectant- minimal results have been noted
• Vitamins and provitamins- offers no benefits
• Fruit acids of alpha-hydroxy acids- offers no benefit
• Antioxidants- offers no benefit
• Designer water- benefits will be washed away with normal shower water
