For many others, though, using concealer is a confusing and daunting task, since they often don’t even know what they’re trying to do with it. What is concealer supposed to conceal? Where can it be used?

• Under the eyes. Concealer can be used under and on the outer corners of the eyes to hide dark circles.
• Around the nostrils. Sometimes this area tends to be red and blotchy; a few dots of concealer will blend it in with the rest of the facial skin.
• Beside the bridge of the nose. Right where your eyes meet your nose, there are usually dark spots. A light dot of concealer keeps the eyes looking bright.
• Over skin imperfections. Whether it’s a broken capillary, redness, birthmarks, or sun damage, concealer will neutralize and balance the look of the skin.
• On blemishes. Solid concealer is perfect for camouflaging pimples, scars, and bruises.
