Obviously, the method that you use to apply concealer is going to vary based on what you’re trying to conceal. However, as a general rule, follow this procedure:
• Either apply the concealer with a soft, flat brush, or gently pat it on with the fingertips. Never rub it on straight from the stick or another applicator; it will be much too thick. Also, refrain from ever rubbing it on your skin; gently tap it until it’s blended.
• Use thicker concealer for dark circles under the eyes; and add yellow eye shadow to the concealer to correct the dark undertones.
• Add blue or green eye shadow to the concealer to hide broken capillaries and other red spots on the face.
• If you’re out of concealer, use the residue in your foundation cap – which will be slightly dried out – as a make-shift concealer.
• Apply tiny dots of concealer in the shape of a triangle to the inside corner of each eye to erase dark circles.
• Use a little around the bottom of the nostrils to blend from the nose to the face, especially where the skin is often slightly red.
• If you have dry skin, use liquid concealer, which is much moister and will not get blotchy.
