There are so many concealers out there! Every brand sells them, and they are available in sticks, pots, crèmes, and pencils. So which concealer should you choose? Consider these things when looking for a concealer that’s right for you:

• The kind of concealer doesn’t really matter; it’s just based on personal preference. Sticks are usually thicker, crèmes have more moisturizer, and pencils are perfect for blemishes.
• Since concealer is slightly heavier than foundation and will probably be used in conjunction with your foundation, find a color that’s exactly the same color or only one shade lighter than the foundation. This will bring your face all to one tone.
• It is sometimes helpful to try testers of yellow-based concealer, since some other colors can leave you colored rather than concealed.
• It is very smart to either try samples before you purchase from a makeup line or to make sure that the store you are purchasing from will allow a return if it doesn’t match you.
• If you are looking for a concealer for the summer months, choose a darker shade, since your skin will probably have more color.
• Some concealers are infused with reflective minerals that add radiance to the skin while working.
• They are available in different finishes; some are full coverage while others offer a semi-matte finish.
• If you are going to need the concealer to last all day, look for long-wearing, crease resistant and/or waterproof concealers.
• For those who have allergies, there are aroma-free and non-acnegenic concealers available. Just check the bottles.
