» What Material are Bathrobes made from?
Bathrobes are constructed from a variety of different materials allowing consumers to select one that will fit their individual needs. Listed below are some of the most common materials from which bathrobes are designed.
· Terrycloth
Terrycloth is a material that is often used to make towels. Terrycloth bath robes are quite popular for their comfortable feel. Terrycloth is a pile fabric, usually cotton, with uncut loops on both sides of the material. It is extremely soft and is available in a variety of different colors.
· Velour
Velour is a closely napped fabric that resembles velvet. It is very soft and supple. It makes great robes to wear during cold weather and is designed to create warmth and comfort.
· Silk
Silk is an incredibly smooth, soft, and shiny fabric and is considered an extremely luxurious material. 100% silk is a popular choice for bedding, high end clothing, and of course bathrobes. Silk robes help create a romantic mood and often coordinate with other pieces, such as lingerie. Silk robes are typically more expensive than robes made out of other fabrics, but are durable and long lasting.
· Satin
Satin can sometimes be confused with silk. Satin is also a soft, smooth, and silky material. It is a desired material for bathrobes because of its comfortable features and the fact that it is often times less expensive than silk.
