If you are trying to plan for a party of some type you know how much effort goes into it. You have to think about how many people to invite. You must know what the appropriate food items will be to order for the party. What drinks should be served? What type of entertainment is best? If you ever attended any kind of party you no doubt have seen a bunch of people there waiting on tables, serving food and liquor to their guests. Well now it is your turn. But cooking meals and serving drinks is not all there is to catering. Catering an event takes a lot of time and preparation. Just what is involved in catering? Here is a checklist of the normal activities that go behind catering:
• The first date: To have a really good caterer is worth their weight in gold. They take all the pressure off of you to get the work done. You simply call them and let them know all the details. They will then schedule a meeting to discuss all the details.
• The proposal: After the first date or interview, they draw up a proposal of the actual costs of doing the affair. They usually itemize everything so you have a breakdown as to what costs what. This way you can keep track of it for business expense purposes.
• Making plans: The caterer you hire has everything at his arsenal to do the job and do it right, according to your specifications. They do all the leg work for you so all you have to do is sit back and enjoy the party. The only thing you have to do is decide on who the caterer will be.
• The big event: When the big day arrives, you will probably get a call in the morning reminding you the caterer is on the way. So you go to the place of the party and do a little preparation of your own, so the place will be ready when the caterer arrives.
