The owner’s manuals for grilling/using-a-gas-grill/">gas grills come covered in warning labels and safety precautions for good reason. If used incorrectly, grilling/using-a-gas-grill/">gas grills can create fires that cause extensive bodily and property damage.

Only use your grill in well-ventilated areas at least three feet away from any walls, and do not use it on a balcony or under a surface that could catch fire. If you store your grill inside for the winter, make sure you remove the propane tank and store it outside.

Protect yourself by using grill tools with long handles and oven mitts. Make sure your meats are cooked thoroughly before you eat them. Keep your children away from your grill, and store spare tanks away from the grill. Most importantly, make sure you keep the tank valve closed when the grill is not in use, and if you ever smell gas, move away from the grill and call the fire department immediately.
