» Sizes and Styles of Fountains
Fountains come in many different styles and sizes; and what looks good in the store may not be exactly what your home or garden needs. Some fountains are designed with special lights, pumps, and wires, while others play soft nature sounds while the water trickles over rocks. The fountain style that you should choose is completely up to you. The best way to choose one is to decide first what the fountain’s main purpose is, and then evaluate if individual fountains will accomplish that goal. Also be sure to investigate carefully the size of the fountain that you are desiring and whether or not it will fulfill the primary purpose you have for buying it.
Indoor fountains are the easier of the two genres of fountains to choose from in relation to size. Most indoor fountains are already compact so as to fit in a corner or on a desk. Your primary task, as it was with style, will be to decide where you wish for the fountain to go and what its objective is. For example, if you are desiring that your fountain be a subtle accent in a room, choose one that is smaller and less obtrusive.
Outdoor fountains are a little bit more of an issue when it comes to size. Many people like to purchase as large as they can afford; however, it is important that you measure the width and height to ensure that the (1) you have a way to get the fountain home and (2) it will fit in the area you have planned to place it in. For places where you know it will fit, like a yard or garden, it is still recommended that you see what the actual surface area taken up will look like before purchasing. This will help keep you from being overwhelmed by the size of your new structure. A recommended test is to stack boxes approximately the size of the fountain and leave them for a little while. This will help you to get an appropriate view of the size.
With all fountains, consider the amount of water and the cleaning process that will be required with your fountain’s size. Consider the costs involved, and make sure that the size you are considering will meet your desires.
