There are many different types of doorbells; they come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and sounds. Following are several examples of the different styles of doorbells that are available to any interested buyer.

-         Shapes. The most basic types of doorbells are usually the long, rectangular ones located on the side of the doorframe. However, doorbells are also available in very fancy or fun designs. Sometimes, they are shaped like a rock or an ancient artifact. They are also available in the shape of animals or monuments.

-         Sizes. Simply put, you can probably find whatever size of doorbell you are looking for if you are willing to search for it and pay what its seller is asking. From one-inch rectangles to three-foot elephants, doorbells are often an expression of their owners.

-         Sounds. While doorbells originally started with sounds as simple as buzzing or rings, they have developed to much more today. From chimes to “Jingle Bells,” doorbells are available with sound effects and music. They are also available without sound for the benefit of those who are deaf. Doorbells are available that cause light to flash or that cause floorboards to vibrate in order to indicate to the non-hearing person that someone is at the door.
