Doorbell Sounds

The many sounds of doorbells could be listed for pages and pages. While traditional doorbells originally started with a “buzz” sound, they eventually developed and came to be known for their “Ding-Dong.” However, most doorbell ringers today are available in quite customized sounds. Following are several examples of the types of sounds that are available to those interested:

-         Nature: These play sounds of nature, like birds, insects, and other sounds typical of the woods. Most people find these to be very pleasant although not always as effective in loudly announcing visitors.
-         Animals: For homes with young children, these animal-sounding doorbells are often very exciting. Wolf howls, dog barks, lion roars, and many more animal sounds are available in the form of a doorbell.
-         Music: There are even doorbells that play songs, especially seasonal songs. Christmas carols, scary Halloween music, and love songs for Valentines are just examples of the tunes available with some of these doorbells.
-         Customized: A popular trend is to customize the doorbell by making a playlist online of favorite songs and then ordering the doorbell to be specially made for them. Fun choices for some people are the “I Love Lucy” theme song or “The Beverly Hillbillies.”

Most of these doorbells with themes come with a variety of choices within themselves and will either rotate through the songs on their own (a new song every ring!) or can be set on a particular theme (like Christmas). Also, most doorbells allow the level of sound to be adjusted. For those who have trouble hearing, they can adjust the levels accordingly.

While these many selections are both enjoyable and interesting, it is important that people try to select a bell that is appropriate for all people in the household and that they will not easily tire of (especially if the children find it fun; they may spend all day thinking up reasons to go outside and ring it!).
