C7 and C9 Lights- These are probably the most common types of Christmas lights. You can purchase the C7 and C9 wiring and bulbs separately, depending on your needs. You can buy the wiring by the foot at a hardware store like Ace Hardware and purchase the bulbs in 25-packs. You can also buy them as a set. The C7 has a smaller bulb than the C9, but both are great to put on the outside of your house along your roofline. These are also great on larger trees and shrubs.


Icicle Lights- These lights are arranged on strands at varying lengths to give the effect of icicles hanging from your roof.


Net Lights- These lights are arranged like a net and are an easy solution for large bushes or trees to give them a uniform, professional look.


Rope Lights- These miniature lights are encased in a very flexible clear PVC pipe are extremely versatile and easy to use in almost any location.


Bubble Lights- These lights typically look like little candles and have a steady stream of bubbles that rise to the top. Some people use these to decorate on their Christmas trees.


Novelty Lights- These can include anything from chili peppers to flowers to peppermints to Santa Claus’. This is a great way to showcase your family’s personality in your holiday decorations.


Battery Operated Lights- This is an alternative to the common lights operated by electricity. This is a good substitute if an electrical outlet is not easily accessible or you do not want a cord in the way.


Mini Lights- These lights are also known as Twinkle Lights. They are a great option for decorating your Christmas trees, as well as, smaller bushes and shrubs outside. These can also be used in a number of holiday decorations such as wreaths and garland.


These are just suggestions, so be creative with your lights and the colors. All of these lighting options come in a variety of colors.
