You will not want to miss the Willamette Valley, Oregon’s leading wine region. It is home to more than 200 wineries and has been recognized as one of the premier Pinot noir producing areas in the world. If you have been to Napa Valley, don’t expect this to be the same type of experience. You travel down some gravel roads and it’s much more quaint and personal. I even met a few owners themselves when I was here. Plan at least a day for visiting the tasting rooms of the vineyards and wineries. You can stay at one of the many bed & breakfasts in the area and enjoy the fine restaurants available here. For additional information about each winery in the area, you can visit www.willamettewines.com.
