On your fifth day in Nicaragua, you could head back to Managua to pick up where you left off the first day, shopping through the streets of Managua. The local markets are wonderful places to find souvenirs. You could eat lunch at a local restaurant; and, after lunch, you could stroll through downtown Nicaragua and learn about the history of the country by exploring the museum that hold national and historical artifacts that are sentimental to the country. The statues and architecture of downtown Managua are beautiful and provide great photo opportunities. You could also take a tour through the Palacio Nacional, which is, literally, the National Palace. This palace houses the government offices and also provides a good opportunity for pictures. For dinner, it is suggested that you partake in the delicious Nicaraguan food of the Cocina de Dona Aydee. This restaurant offers its guests typical Nicaraguan food; therefore, you would get to experience what a typical Nicaraguan meal is like. After dinner, you might want to watch a television show or two before going to sleep.
