As with everything else, cost of the Activities and Attractions varies. There are some Activities and Attractions that you and your family can take advantage of that do not cost anything. Spending time on the beaches, swimming, and beach sports do not cost anything. Shopping at the local markets also does not cost anything in theory. However, if you choose to purchase something, which you will probably want to, you will control how much you spend. If you wanted to spend the whole afternoon exploring the town, but not purchase anything, you would be able to do this. While going to Lake Nicaragua does not cost anything, there is a fee for the boat tours to the small islands that is highly recommended. There are also tours offered that can be taken by bus or horseback, if boating does not appeal to you. The national park and the trip to the top of the volcano does not cost anything; however, there is a museum and gift shop available which offer souvenirs and gifts that could be purchased. For the most part, Activities and Attractions in Nicaragua are very affordable and well worth the money that might be spent on them.
