When you visit Canterbury this is one part of the area that has the typical charm of an English and with surrounding buildings and street trams, the citizens have tried to capture part of the country that was once a colony with Australia and New Zealand. Why not take a ride on the street tram that runs throughout the Christchurch area it is a way of travelling in style and will make you wonder how it felt when transportation was at its first stages.

Christchurch the capitol of Canterbury and it is most common to be treated to a selection of botanical gardens that have the finest collection of exotic and native plants to the New Zealand area. If you want to take advantage of the beautiful flowers that can be found in the botanical gardens of the private and breathtaking Canterbury gardens which are open to the public then the best time to visit is in spring (September, October and November) when the flowers begin to bloom.

If you would prefer to see some of the history on offer to you then make sure you visit Riccarton House (also known as Riccarton Bush). Located just five minutes from Cathedral Square it is the original home to the first settler family that came into the area. You will find Putaringomotu which has just over seven and a half acres of native forest which date back thousands of years and is one of the last of this line throughout the world.
